Friday, AUGUST 2, 2002 marked the opening of the first annual FLASHBACK WEEKEND at the Marriott O’Hare and Pickwick Theater in Chicago. Lots of special Horror and Sci-Fi film guests filled the 3 day/night convention including EVIL DEAD’S Bruce Campbell with the women of EVIL DEAD (Ellen Sandweiss, Betsy Baker, Theresa Tilly). Horror legend Herschell Gordon Lewis came into town to premiere the everlong awaited sequel BLOODFEAST 2 and accept a Lifetime Achievement Award… But something else blew into the Windy City that weekend also: SLEEPAWAYCAMPMOVIES.COM.
Friday night, SLEEPAWAY CAMP was once again BACK on the Big Screen at the beautiful Pickwick Theater. And there to celebrate were Felissa “ANGELA” Rose, Director Robert Hiltzik, Co-Producer (and Robert’s Wife) Michele Hiltzik, and Webmaster Jeff Hayes. Friday night also marked the Theatrical World Premiere of Jeff’s new movie: GRANDMA’S SECRET RECIPE (featuring Felissa as a Newscaster and a cameo by Robert as a wacky Neighbor).
To all the many fans who came to CAMP with us, we thank you all and hope you had as much fun as we did. Both Screenings were a great success!!
